2006 edition

The 2006 competition was characterized by a First Prize and two special mentions of high quality

and furthermore also three projects were highlighted during the Jury evaluation.

The first prize went to the “Wine facility Collemassari” project by Edoardo Millesi – Archos Engineering

consulting.

The building  is a clear and representative volume inserted in the rhythmic mesh of the vineyards,

develops the topic proposed by the competition notice consistently and proposes the modification of

the landscape with the contemporary language economy.

As for the environmental aspect the building

tackles the problem of the modification without traditional stylistic choices, rendering contemporary

technical and architectural forms highly consistent.

The technological mix of both natural and artificial materials seems to be balanced.

The project attention is intelligent and appropriate, as it aims at valorising the environmental elements

(such as water, air, wind, light, shadow) for controlling the microclimate inside the building with natural

methods.

Also interesting and rational is the irrigation system of the surrounding fields that recycles the water used

for the productive activities.
